Crafter, Maker and, General Rule Breaker

Welcome to Twinkling Traveller! My name is Sara!
Twinkling Traveller started officially in 2016 as a way for me to share the things I made while I was travelling for my full time singing job. I discovered that I had loads of time on airplanes, trains, and car rides that I could use to craft. The activity helped improve my mental health and provided an additional and completely different creative outlet I hadn't realised I needed.
Since then the "Travelling" part of the brand has morphed and evolved, now symbolizing the journey of life. It is so important to enjoy the journey and to find the things that make you spark and twinkle.
I come from Tennessee originally so most of what I make have roots in family traditions passed down to me. My paternal grandmother passed down her love of making stained glass art and my maternal grandmother taught me to quilt. My father was an excellent carpenter and both he and my mother taught and encouraged me to draw and create as well as to sing. Now, living in the UK, those ties to my family are even more precious to me.
The quote that "life is about the journey, not the destination." speaks to me and inspires me on a daily basis. Marie Kondo has been a great inspiration to me as well, strive to discover the things that really spark joy for you and hold on to them.
